Reporting to the Director Operations - FG&P and Transmission, this position is responsible for the day to day leadership and management of field operations focusing on regulatory compliance, facility expense outlook and budgeting, capital projects and management of change.  This position ensures effective communication between internal and external stakeholders in the completion of operational activities and actively pursues optimization and efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Unitholder Value

  • Ensure annual budgets are developed and updated throughout the year
  • Maximize the asset ROI by controlling operating costs, maximizing process volumes & revenues, and redeploying un-used equipment.
  • Exceeding budget Operating Income and identifying growth opportunities


  • Recruiting, training, retaining and motivating operations personnel to ensure segment objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure training and progression plans are developed and maintained for all staff.
  • Develop and support an operating culture which is accountable, collaborative, and entrepreneurial with a focus on bottom line performance and accretive growth.


  • Maintain high communication levels with our Commercial team and Customers to ensure their needs are satisfied and to help promote future business.
  • Participation in key commercial discussions and input on development projects

Business Systems & Process

  • Develop, maintain and promote business processes & systems for operations

Business Development

  • Working with the Business Development group, identify, evaluate, and execute accretive expansions & acquisitions and integrate them with existing operations.
  • Manage projects in the district consistent with our Project Execution Strategy


  • Ensure the operations meet or exceed all government and industry standards/regulations
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with our internal Codes of Practice.


  • Engineering degree or Technologist diploma
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience
  • Facility Integrity, Pipeline Integrity and Rotating Equipment experience is an asset
  • Direct field Operations experience
  • Excellent people and supervisory skills
  • Understanding of midstream operations business model
  • Field construction experience is an asset
