1.2 Bcf/d of liquids-rich gas processing capacity strategically positions AltaGas to meet producers’ needs.

It is estimated that trillions of cubic feet of natural gas exist in the Montney Shale gas play located in northwestern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia. There is a growing need for gas processing capacity and pipelines as drilling activity increases in the area. AltaGas plans to meet this need by delivering gas processing and natural gas liquids extraction services to our customers. We will achieve this by expanding our existing assets, positioning facilities close to major systems that transport natural gas and liquids to end markets, acquiring and building new assets, and optimizing the performance of existing assets.

Our gas infrastructure touches more than 2 Bcf/d of natural gas in Canada. Our assets include six extraction plants, five natural gas transmission systems, three NGL pipelines, more than 70 gathering and processing facilities, and a 6,500 km network of gathering and sales lines.

AltaGas has an in-house engineering team that delivers industry-leading construction capability, led by experienced project managers. We deliver projects on time and on budget. The completion of the Henderson Pipeline, which allowed our customers to get gas to market earlier than planned, was an example of these capabilities. The Gas business delivers services under a variety of commercial structures which provide flexibility to our customers, maximizing customer netbacks and meeting AltaGas’ desired investment returns.
